Do any liberals actually read/study conservative politics or do they just quote MSNBC?
I think that generally, conservatives are more well-read in terms of getting both sides of the political argument. I want to see what others think. I don’t care what side you are on, but keep it friendly.
They quote SNL and MSNBC.

Cons get their news from Fox News calling the kettle black if I have ever seen it.

You are correct.
If they studied and had any life experience they would not be liberals.

It’s easier for Liberals to avoid conservative ideas. All they have to do is not go to church, not watch fox news, and not listen to AM talk. If the climate were different, I imagine conservatives would do the same thing.

Read through the next 20 or 30 conservative posts and tell me how well read those posters are. If you can understand them in spite of the spelling and grammatical errors, that is.

I would like to see you try and support that supposition

Yes actually I do.
And I find what passes as conservative politics these days, isn’t very conservative at all, as much as it is right-wing extremism.
right-wing nationalism, irrationalism, fascism isn’t the conservative patriotism, logic, and support for free market as the fanatics claim it is.
I used to be a super conservative until I realized Rush Limbaugh was full of donkey stuffing, and I quit watching TV and listening to the radio.
After I started doing my own research, and finding the real facts, the extremists started claiming me to be a liberal.
I’m sure liberals appreciate a spare educated person to combat right-wing irrationalism.

I would disagree with you on the point that anyone willing to pigeon hole themselves into a label such as liberal or conservative is either lying to themselves or not very bright.
I try to take the time to read all the bills that pass through the house of reps and the amendments made by the senate, (though I admit they are pretty dry and sometimes I get to busy to get to them) and I don’t watch fox news, or MSNBC. I watch CSPAN so I can actually listen in on the debates instead of hearing someone make a comment about them later.

Of course you think conservatives are more well-read because you are a conservative. It’s perfectly natural that people think others who provide affirmation for their own beliefs to be more intelligent, educated and articulate.
Here’s the thing though. Conservatives will argue until they’re blue in the face that Fox News isn’t conservatively biased, when it clearly is. I watch all news channels, including MSNBC. I am liberal. MSNBC is definitely liberally biased and doesn’t even try to hide it – which alone makes them better than FNC who does.

I don’t watch MSNBC, i read and study as much as possible on the policies of BOTH major parties, as well as the policies and values of the minor parties, like the Libretarians and the Greens.

I think you’re not being reasonable. Where are you getting this opinion? Do you really believe that the insane right-wing radicals who talk about Sotomayor actually ever read any of her decisions? Or the ones who say incredibly crude things about Krugman – do you think they’ve read any of his books? Of course they haven’t.

Does listening to Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levine, Bill O’Reilly, Glen Beck, and everyone else at Fox News count as reading/studying conservative politics? I also listen to Republican politicians when they give televised speeches.
I don’t watch MSNBC.
I think that generally, conservatives are less well-read in terms of getting both sides of the political argument. They think they know what liberalism is all about, but their perception is skewed by assuming the extremist elements are representative of all liberals and by their own attempts at slanderous spin.

I’m a liberal.
They seem equally well-versed/stereotypical on both sides to me.
People who aren’t interested in debating label conservatives as all rich white religious nuts, and on the opposite side people label liberals as socialist tree-hugging pansies.
I just happen to think one side is right most of the time when they label the other as such.

Im sorry but you are wrong. We are traveling in the reddest states we have in the Southeast. These are the most brainwashed people I have ever seen. Every business, little cafe and McDonald’s we go into has Fox News on all day. I have heard more people use the Nword in reference to our President here and want him shot. These are not what I would consider intelligent and well read people. They Consider themselves as good Christians and pray for the death of our Nword President. These people are the core of the Republican Party.

how so…
most conservatives I know think I want to (borderline) eat babies and I’m a communist? (and they read this from Counter and similar clowns)
let me guess… you think that’s "being well-read"?
if you’re well-read on foolish propaganda… it’s kind of betraying the whole point of being "well-read" isn’t it?
they also say it’s a waste of time to watch anything besides Fox News?
now, there may be conservatives that are ACTUALLY well read and ACTUALLY look for both sides…
but judging by the ratings of Fox News and the sales of Coulter… they seem to be a minority…
wouldn’t MSNBC and CNN’s ratings be higher if cons were watching them too?
I have never met a Republican that understand my issues, from my perspective better than I do…
they may exist… I haven’t run across one yet though…
